Sometimes the small, unscientific things can give you an indication of voter enthusiasm better than any scientific poll. For example, in 2008, Barack Obama signs blanketed Chapel Hill and were fairly common in northern parts of Orange County as well. This time, however, Richard Burr campaign signs are common in the parts of northern Orange County I frequent. South of I-40 in Chapel Hill, the Obama bumper stickers are still ubiquitous and, yesterday, I spotted my first Elaine Marshall bumper sticker. Haven’t spotted any Mike Beitler material yet.
