More broadly, why is this news? It is perfectly normal for career criminals who have escaped punishment from a broken criminal justice system to wind up killing someone. We don’t prosecute anyone in Mecklenburg County — unless the feds stumble on a hooker op with some big pocket customers — then we got resources out the ying-yang.
