And how much money will the naming rights bring in? No word in the official Bobcat Johnson press release. At one time you might recall that the number $4 million a year was kicked around. All we know for sure is that Bobcats games will move from TW’s countywide News14 outlet to the regional cable of Fox Sports South
My guess is that TW was not going to pay a whole lot more on top of doing Johnson that favor.
Update: I’ve read thru this Uptown paper of record account twice and see no number associated with the “naming rights.” So I have to conclude Bobcat Johnson got nothing — or next to nothing — for them. And someone please walk me thru how getting the team potentially on more TV sets translates into more ticket sales. I do not get it.
