Once again, I wish to repeat that the freedom of religion protects the individual right to worship where, when, and how one pleases. If people choose to wear burkas or dreadlocks, mutter mumbo-jumbo, bow their heads, or rub a rosary, it’s all cool. As Americans we tolerate diversity. If somebody in any station wants to ask help from his higher power, he can – until he needs to infringe others’ rights by sacrificing virgins, burning witches, etc., etc. – it’s all cool. It is one thing to pray, another to command somebody else to pray. Overhearing a prayer is harmless. Being forced to bow and lie is not. Since this is so painfully obvious, I am left asking what people fear from a god they deem fictitious.
