Mark Schulman of the Hendersonville Times-News did his homework. Zentric, a green energy company, has announced its intent to move its headquarters to Henderson County. The move will create lots of high-paying jobs, bring oodles of dollars into the community, fortify the tax-base, and all that jazz. Government leaders are flattered and proud. Schulman’s article was the only one in over half a dozen searched to mention the obvious missing piece: Fletcher Town Council offered $125,125, and Henderson County offered $172,730 in economic development incentives. “An elected leadership that understand business needs,” was on reason cited for Zentric’s decision.
