Some travel to chase storms. Others like to visit relatives and other loved-ones. Some like outdoor sports or locations of historical significance. But most base their travel decisions on the destination’s slogan. Huh? The following LTE, with which I am in accord, appeared in the Sylva Herald.

My first reaction to the county brand, “Play On,” was that it must be April 1. Quickly determining such was not the case, my second thought was, “you gotta be kidding, the TDA didn’t really pay $50,000 to an out of state company to ferret out a trade name for our community in order to attract tourists – surely not.”
