New JLF education analyst Terry Stoops will make his media debut late
Friday when he discusses the release of the state’s end-of-grade test
scores on WTKF’s “Lockwood Phillips Show.” Commenting on the results in
“The Locker Room,” Stoops wrote that according to figures released by
DPI, schools making expected or high growth dipped “slightly” to 69
percent this year. That’s down from 75 percent last year and 94 percent two years
ago. The number of schools meeting No Child Left Behind’s Adequate
Yearly Progress (AYP) requirement is also down from 70.5 percent last
year to 56.3 percent this year.
