William Shakespeare’s advice about lawyers notwithstanding, a new Pope Center for Higher Education Policy report suggests North Carolina has a “substantial unmet demand for legal education.” The News & Observer’s “Under The Dome” blog picked up the report quickly, and the newspaper followed suit. The Triangle Business Journal and Daily Tar Heel also picked up on the study. The DTH also picked the brain of JLF Education Policy Analyst Terry Stoops for a story on Florida’s decision to re-open debate about evolution education in its public schools. Stoops shared details of his recent Spotlight report on dropout prevention grants with the Danny Fontana Show on Charlotte’s WDYT Radio. WPTF Radio’s Bill LuMaye welcomed Lindalyn Kakadelis of the N.C. Education Alliance to discuss same-gender classes, an idea that has drawn national attention because of a Georgia school system’s decision to offer only same-gender classes next fall.
