The head of the state Democratic Party has tried to use the John Locke Foundation’s annual “By the Numbers” report on local tax burdens to hurt the gubernatorial bid of Republican nominee and Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory. McCrory responded in an opinion piece this week in the Charlotte Observer. Meanwhile, JLF Policy Analyst and Research Editor Jon Sanders used his latest Townhall.com article to focus on the presidential race; he critiqued the rhetorical tools Democratic candidate Barack Obama has used to battle criticism of his former pastor and his patriotism.
