An incorrect legal description of the Winston Road area, one of four the Lexington City Council voted to annex in July, forced the council to repeal that area from the city’s annexation plan.
The council’s vote to delete the Winston Road area from the annexation plan came after the board met in closed session.
The legal challenge filed against the city by annexation opponents in Davidson County Superior Court in September states that the description of the Winston Road area in both the public notices and the annexation ordinance is incorrect.
Lexington City Manager John Gray is “disappointed.”
