I’m not sure what I’m missing here, but I thought anticipating Piedmont Triad International Airport’s conversion into an ‘aerotropolis’ was what Heart of the Triad was all about.
Now we have the Piedmont Triad Leadership Group, which has a plan of its own. Funny, it sounds just like HOT’s plan:
?Creating a 25-member aerotropolis leadership board.
? Establishing subcommittees involving local planners, transportation and marketing officials.
? Developing a long-term land-use plan for the region.
? Building a Center for Global Logistics at a Guilford Technical Community College campus in northwest Guilford County.
Do I even need to say that ‘startup money’ for the ‘aerotropolis’ will come from various federal, state and local ‘resources’? That means taxpayers.
