Interesting how this N&R article on Greensboro City Council candidates’ ideas on job creation seems to contradict yesterday’s lead editorial saying we should re-elect Mayor Yvonne Johnson because Greensboro has shown signs of economic progress during her tenure, considering the fact that the article states that every City Council candidate wants jobs, but “hardly anyone has an idea how to get them.” That would include the mayor, who’s basically a glorified council member.

Note candidates say —you guessed it —- economic incentives are necessary to help bring jobs to Greensboro. And, of course, unidentified business leaders say a “hip downtown will attract and retain a creative class of entrepreneurs.”

Surely this isn’t what they have in mind they mean the ‘creative class.’
