Forty-two years ago today, a week after appearing at Shea Stadium in New York, The Beatles appeared at Metropolitan Stadium in Minneapolis. This was before the bloom came off, when Paul still played the Hofner, George the Gretsch Country Gentleman and John the Rickenbacker. I had graduated from high school and had actually seen The Beatles in concert in Paris the previous spring. I was about to start my freshman year at the University of Georgia when this concert took place. I urge all my Boomer Trinity Park friends and neighbors to watch the whole thing. It’ll make you smile. Even Brian Epstein makes a brief appearance at the end.

(Thanks to James Lileks for reminding everyone.)
