For years I’ve suspected that certain mainstream media outlets use polls to push public policy rather than illuminate public opinion on those policies. The New York Times and CBS combine to produce one of the most questionable polls around. Their latest effort isn’t going to help me get rid of my suspicions.
LATER: And why would the Times and CBS go to such trouble to hide the true results of this poll? Here’s one theory:
In short, the skewed NYT/CBS poll is no better for the Democrats than any of the other recent polls. In some ways, it is worse.
