Carolina Journal TV’s Anthony Greco reports on the $212 million transit center that’s being considered by Raleigh. View the story here.

Raleigh’s city council is taking the first steps in a process to build an expansive new transit center. It’s estimated to cost as much as $212 million and would be the new home for the city’s and region’s bus service, Greyhound depot and Amtrak station. Planners hope it eventually will house light rail and commuter rail services. Opponents say the building will waste valuable real estate and money that would be better spent on more popular forms of transportation.

Monday, May 10 at Noon, the John Locke Foundation will host a speech by an expert featured in Greco’s story — Randal O’Toole of the Cato Institute. You’re invited to hear him discuss Gridlock: Why We’re Stuck in Traffic and What to Do About It. More information and registration information is here.
