OK, that was a headline I couldn’t resist. N.C. Secretary of State Elaine Marshall went on a trip to Canada on Sunday to milk some contributions from American trial lawyers.
Also on the trip was Illinois senatorial candidate Alexi Giannoulias, who’s taken heat for the fact that his bank made loans to the infamous Tony Rezko and also to a bookmaker and money launderer. Giannoulias, of course, said he had nothing to do with approving the loans.
Funny thing, though. On a list of how the money from the Vancouver trip was to be divided, Marshall’s name does not appear.
