Alluding to the last post, Confucius say, “People who skate on thin ice shouldn’t blow hot air.” (Not really, for those who think I have to disclaim.) Therefore, I will not make fun of another attempt to raise awareness about the fact that the federal government is defying the law of the land.
The Asheville-Buncombe 9-12 Project will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the Ramada Inn on Smoky Park Highway to celebrate Constitution Day. I don’t have details, and web pages are unavailable.
I had misgivings about the 9-12 stuff when it started. It looked like somebody besides me was blowing smoke. Yet, I respected Glenn Beck for answering a call to do something – anything by symbolically handing the responsibility of living free back to each and every citizen. (“But Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man that he didn’t didn’t already have . . .”) At first, the movement appeared as hollow as the left’s cry for hope and change.
However, since the big TV show announcing 9-12, patriots have stood up to be counted in large enough numbers to invalidate arguments about wasted votes. Tea Party candidates have won primaries for high office. Perhaps most importantly, in today’s political rhetoric, I’m picking up good vibrations.
