Terry noted Ann Goodnight’s emotional statement on the bonds:

It’s
frustrating to me that people don’t get it. … We’re supposed to be
the third most educated city. It shouldn’t be an emotional issue.

For the Goodnights, it’s not emotional, it’s just business. I’m still waiting for that offer to make Cary Academy a Wake County public school.

It’s all par for the course in Cary where a conservative town council member will be replaced by an anti-growther or a country clubber and the goal is for a consensus choice. The consensus also currently holds that Cary needs to spend $45 million dollars for an international-competition-level pool in addition to a privately financed pool. The town, its consulting experts, and the Goodnights know what’s best for the rest of us.
