Tonight the Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee will receive an updated school construction cost study that compares Wake to similar school systems.
Upon the release of the original study in January, newspaper and television reports claimed that Wake’s costs were comparable to these other school systems. The fact is that Wake’s costs are consistently above average, especially when comparing per-student costs.
If past behavior is any indication, the media will report that Wake’s costs are comparable, even if the updated report says otherwise.
