Goldilocks, the Three Democrat Bears, and the alternative to rational policy debate

Mitch’s post this morning dovetails with mine yesterday, enough where now I think I can fix the AP’s analogy.

Goldilocks (i.e. the Democrat primary voter) enters the cottage (voting booth) looking for the candidate who’s “just right.” Hillary Clinton is the Papa Bear; her stuff’s too hard. Barack Obama is the Mama Bear; his stuff’s too soft.

There’s no sign of the Baby Bear, but there is John Edwards, touching his heart when asked a policy question; alas, he’s the Care Bear, a fluffy little thing that needs people to pretend he’s come from “Care-a-lot” to “help with some crisis in caring,” etc.
