Jenkins is worried that the feds will make things worse, and not only in the housing market, due to “a wave of us versus them demagoguery aimed at voters demoralized over economic setbacks and a crash in home prices.”

This election year may turn out to be much like 1932, with confused, frightened, and ignorant voters led into supporting politicians whose solution to every problem is more governmental control.
