Republican legislative leaders used their regular news conference this morning to highlight House Bill 190, which would authorize spending of $10 million over two years for software and services designed to generate Medicaid savings.

House Minority Leader Paul Stam, R-Wake, expects the investment to yield at least $100 million in savings by identifying and rejecting improper Medicaid claims before they are paid.

The 19:35 news conference also featured discussion about bills addressing electronic notice of local government public hearings and converting the State Employee Health Plan to a calendar-year program.
