According to a report in today’s Triad Business Journal, Winston Salem mayor Allen Joines has reached an agreement with Dell for them to give back the taxpayers’ money they got to come to North Carolina.  Since Dell decided to close up shop and reneged on thier end of the deal, they should have to give all the taxpayers’ money back.  But are they?

As I reported previously, Dell got $37.2 million in local money.  Joines says Dell has agreed to  pay the city and county back $23.5 million.  Where’s the other $13.7 million?

And then there’s the $225 million from the state coffers.  No mention of a payback on that.  What’s the deal?
