It’s not unusual for people to wear red when they’re trying to draw attention to united support for — or opposition to — some public policy or controversial proposal.

Yet it still struck me as funny when I saw the photo in this morning’s News & Observer of angry parents and students wearing red to publicize their fight to save a local school system’s dual-language program in … Mandarin Chinese.

It gets better. The protest was taking place in Chapel Hill.
