A unanimous three-judge panel of the N.C. Court of Appeals has reversed a trial court and ruled in favor of Greenville in a lawsuit stemming from a fatal 2007 car crash caused by a Greenville police officer. Appellate judges ruled the officer’s conduct did not constitute the “gross negligence” necessary for the city to be liable for lawsuit damages.
