From fiscal year 2012 to 2013 the state saw an increase in budget spending of 3 percent. Both the Senate and the House have proposed their versions of the budget, below I show a spending growth chart of exactly how much the budget grew from year to year. The conference budget is the one released by the legislature late last night and will be voted on by both chambers this week. In years past, budgets have grown much faster and larger, so even though there are some controversial issues within the budget between the Left and Right, one thing is a positive outcome – we are spending less money.
