According to a new report published by the Cato Institute, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction does a poor job of reporting financial information about public schools.
Although North Carolina earned a failing grade, it did not receive one of the lowest overall scores. In fact, the state tied for 33rd out of 50 states.
Here is a breakdown of the scoring:
Per Pupil Expenditures | 16.50 / 45 |
Total Expenditure Data | 20.00 / 30 |
Average Salary Data | 5.00 / 10 |
Public Accessibility | 15.00 / 15 |
Total Score | 56.50 / 100 |
Obviously, the “Public Accessibility” measure was the one bright spot.
