Labor unions have relied more on social justice messages in North Carolina in recent years, rather than the traditional messages targeting particular “bad bosses.” Union organizers also have been focusing more efforts on the public sector, rather than the private sector.

Those were two key messages from Bruce Clarke, CEO of Capital Associated Industries, during a lunchtime presentation to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, Clarke discusses North Carolina union organizers’ interest in national messages.
