The Guilford County Board of Education, which in June 2009 turned down a $1.14 million offer for the abandoned Craven Elementary School in Lindley Park from Guilford Child Development, which wanted to use the school for a preschool and training center, is now considering tearing down Craven at a cost of $270,000 and letting the land be used as a community garden for free.
