Kraft macaroni and cheese is now the target of North Carolina’s food police for dyes used in the American staple — dyes that are legal and approved for use by the FDA. But, rather than simply not eating the mac and cheese themselves, these two ladies have decided to “demand” change from Kraft. In response, the company notes that it offers lots and lots of options for consumers.

On one hand, at least these bloggers are seeking to get Kraft to respond to pressure, rather than trying to use the FDA to ban the ingredient.  In general, however, choice is not what the food police/nanny-staters want. They want to dictate to you, what they want. Think it will be long before NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg picks up on this, and/or before nanny-staters start demanding that FDA ban the ingredients?
