The Transylvania County Commissioners refused to even hold a public hearing on regulating electronic signs. Those who voted against the hearing said the regulations violated property rights. Chair Mike Hawkins disagreed:
The Planning Board is not a bunch of wild-eyed radicals out to infringe on people’s property rights.
