In two weeks, my mailbox may be empty. Clearly possessing the profile of a starstruck victim of celebrity endorsement, all kinds of famous people are writing me. About a week ago, Maya Angelou sent a lot of vague words open to interpretation, and I interpreted them to mean she didn’t have a message. Then, today Gloria Steinem wrote to me again. She wanted me to know her candidate supported women’s issues, like the right to taxpayer-subsidized fetus murder and equal pay. The latter, she said, would be good for the economy because women would spend. Men, on the other hand, invest and support that global trade stuff, from which former supporters feel a need to now distance themselves.
