The issue is the same one over which Buncombe County staff got emotional. The merger between two mental health management entities, Western Highlands and Smoky Mountain Center, will cause some counties to lose representation due to state caps on board size. Furthermore, new legislation has raised the bar on who can serve.
The last time I checked, psychologists were still advising clientele that one cannot control another’s emotional maturity. Ergo, I’m having problems guessing the true motive behind encouraging private citizens to lobby for seating to happify mental healthcare leaders
