Headlines in the local daily show two things. First is confusion over gay marriage. Some in authority claim leaders can refuse to perform gay marriages, while leaders are resigning because they don’t want to perform or process them. Then, other leaders are under fire for possible technical glitches performed to facilitate gay marriage.

[ED NOTE: I controlled myself from captioning the next one “Pin the Tail on the Donkey.” See? I can be corrigible.]

The other thing is a mysterious fascination with trying to “hang things” on two guys. One is Asheville Police Chief William Anderson. The other is Buncombe County Register of Deeds Drew Reisinger. I am always reminded of the saying: Low-information people talk about people, intelligent people talk about events, and wise people talk about ideas. I’m so glad we do public policy here. I’m much too stupid to discern whose zooming whom at which level of subterfuge. Dizzying.
