Today’s Wall Street Journal has an excellent piece by Henry Olsen on the sorry fact that the nation’s employment rate is at its lowest rate in decades, with only 58.4% of adults working.
What does Obama do? He advocates more “stimulus” and federal tampering with the economy. As Olsen puts it, “An administration that pursued job creation — not ideology — would note this history and see how individuals and companies can create wealth and jobs quickly if they have the right incentives.”
Obama isn’t interested in that, since better incentives means less of what he dearly loves, namely government control. Back when he was elected, I figured Obama to be a dogmatic authoritarian and he’s proving to be exactly that. He just won’t abandon any of his pet ideas about the supposed benefit of government domination no matter how strongly the evidence shows them to be harmful.
