Wake County District Attorney tells the News & Observer that several officials of Gov. Bev Perdue’s 2008 campaign have been issued subpoenas by a federal grand jury.

Willoughby’s upset because people he was talking to in his state investigation of Perdue’s campaign flights have stopped talking.

Willoughby would not confirm the identities of any of the witneseses. Nor would Robin Zier, spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney George Holding, citing grand jury secrecy.

Should be an interesting weekend at the Executive Mansion.
