Billionaire David Murdock sure has put the whammy on the local Knight Ridder outlet. The paper cannot stop cheerleading Murdock’s planned North Carolina Research Campus long enough to ask obvious questions. Questions like which private biotech ventures, real companies, might be part of the Kannapolis hub.
Instead Murdock says he has gotten plenty of interest from biotech grad students around the country. That’s nice. But grad students are the worker bees of research. Where’s the engine?
