The Mecklenburg County Board of Elections has recounted the votes from the November 7th election and found the numbers match. And they should have. Now what?
We still do not know what exactly happened at the McCrorey YMCA voting precinct, which bucked county-wide trends with higher vote totals and did so while reporting those numbers very late. But BOE boss Michael Dickerson seems very disinclined to dig any deeper there.
The local GOP is protesting the votes from McCrorey and two other late-reporting precincts which voted heavily Democratic and had the effect of boosting Parks Helms back onto the Mecklenburg County Commission.
