Thank goodness for small miracles. CMS honcho Peter Gorman says that forcing the system’s best teachers into dangerous classrooms is off the table — for now.
Why was it ever on the table? To get Vilma Leake to shut up? To show her that a majority of the school board did not support the idea? Some leadership there.
A leader’s correct response to a nutty idea is to say, “No, we are not doing that — that is nutty. Stop talking about it, you sound foolish.”
But I’m glad Pete came around, for whatever reason. It saves me the trouble of drawing up a list of forced transfer candidates drawn from teachers at his daughter’s school.
