For months I’ve consistently said that it is mistake to assume that John McCain will carry NC. That the wild enthusiasm for Barack Obama could turn the state from red to blue. Might be wrong about that if the furor that greeted Howard Dean in the QC yesterday is in anyway representative of an Obama backlash.
I had no idea that Charlotte had so many people — any, really — who idolize Hillary Clinton. Who think Obama is a phony candidate forced on them by Dean and party leaders. Who absolutely want HRC on the ticket, who want a chance to vote for her for president at the convention in Denver. Who are mulling over actually voting for McCain rather than Obama.
All over Hillary Clinton. Shocking. It is like rounding a corner Uptown and finding a band of Druids celebrating May Day. You question your grip on reality. But never lose your appreciation for a nice crisp shirt.
