Forsyth County commissioners voted to move forward with a $430 million bond proposal that would go on the November ballot:

(T)he board agreed to fund requests from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools system, Forsyth County Technical Community College and Forsyth County Parks and Recreation through voter-approved bonds. Monday evening’s vote moved those proposals ahead, scheduling a public hearing and a date for final debate, but without the support of commissioners Gloria Whisenhunt and Richard Linville.

The vast majority of the bond proposal—$350 million—-was requested by Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools—first bond request by the school system in 10 years. Commissioners will hold a public hearing Aug. 8 before signing off on all or part of the bond proposals.
