Much to their credit, Brevard City Council is expected to follow the sage recommendations of the city’s Public Works and Utilities Committee in not accepting a $9 million loan from the state. The city could accept the money to build a state-of-the-art sewage treatment facility, but they decided upgrades would suffice to get the system compliant with state codes by the beginning of next year. Mindful were they of topics alien to general government discussions like taxpayers having to pay back the loans with interest.
