Jan Davis was elected for a third term on Asheville City Council, receiving only forty more votes than fourth-place contender Lael Gray. Then 213 provisional ballots were produced at the Board of Elections. According to the local daily, the board has indicated it does not know what to do with them, as it does not yet know how many of the ballots were cast by Asheville residents, or how many ballots were legitimate. Gray will wait until the last minute to announce whether or not she wants a recount.
