Maggie Valley Mayor Pro Tem Colin Edwards resigned following the reappointment of ABC Chair Ralph Wallace, who had resigned. Prior to Wallace’s reappointment, alcohol had been evaporating like crazy from the ABC stores in Maggie Valley. Edwards was aware of the problems, but other aldermen were not.
Phil Aldridge came to find out a little too late, but Mayor Roger McElroy would not let him discuss publicly why he would vote against Wallace’s reappointment and Edwards’ resignation. Alderwoman Saralyn Price agreed with the mayor in that the incredible shrinking inventory was no cause for concern.
