These past two weeks have been Terry’s.  Aside from participating in the Conservative Leadership Conference hosted by the Civitas Institute, Terry Stoops, alongside Lindalyn Kakadelis, motivated local charter-school activists who were rallying to protest against the state’s charter cap. Stories ran in the News & Observer, WCNC, and the Winston-Salem Journal. Behind Terry’s words of motivation were numbers: if you look at charter schools as a whole, “North Carolina’s charter schools have low average school and class sizes, innovative curricula and instructional approaches, few disciplinary problems, and student performance comparable to district schools.” That’s according to Terry’s latest report. And of course you’re never hard-pressed to find Terry speaking out on school construction and teacher salaries, even if the latter uses his words to ax pay hikes for teachers in Kentucky.
