Here’s a good response to all that panicky yapping about how deregulation of electric power would subject us all to the kind of blackout experienced by Northern states last month. In a new commentary, a Pennsylvania congressman observes that his state’s deregulation model, probably the best to be enacted so far in the nation, has saved money for consumers while having nothing to do with increased risk of blackout (Pennsylvania was barely involved, by the way).
