Macon County residents do not want Bud Talley to have a dirt bike racetrack on his 45-acre farm. Talley says he needs the track to “save the farm.” Zoning laws are such that he could build the track; but to have it approved by the American Motorcyclist Association, he would have to build in the 750-foot buffer zone required by the county. An AMA-approved track would have only a 350-foot buffer and operate every day of the year. An approved track would operate only sixteen days.
