Kudos to Paul Wilkinson, Chief Fire Investigator with the Charlotte Fire Department, for pointing out that a string of arsonist fires in East Charlotte shows, “the complete disrespect and lack of respect for people’s property.”
The investigation into who set the fires is ongoing and looking for tips.
But I’ll bet Investigator Wilkinson that if an arrest is made in the case, it will never go to trial, will be pled down, and will result in no meaningful punishment for the guilty party. You see, prosecutors in Mecklenburg County do not respect private property rights and judges sure the hell do not unless it is property flowing into their pockets and possession.
