Via one member of Meck Deck nation comes this clip from Edd Hauser’s May 21st stop at WFAE.
In response an email question regarding any possible bias in the study considering UNCC’s interest in having a light rail line run to the campus, Hauser responded quite forcefully:
Hauser: This was done in-house at the Center for Transportation Policy Studies. No one from outside the city (sic) … the Center had a role in it, either in terms of input or commentary.
Mike Collins: How do we know that?
Hauser: You can either take my word or go talk to anyone you want to on the street. The simple term to use here is academic freedom.
Contrast that with UNCC Assistant General Counsel Jesh Humphrey’s memo on June 13th: “The study originated as a list of questions from Bob Morgan of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.”
And the truth will set you free.
