At least two bills up for consideration by the legislature today make no sense to me. One, Senate Bill 935, by its existence indicates that persons have attempted to give advice to families without sufficient paperwork. The solution is to give the state more money. Who cares if distraught parties get comfort from uncertified personnel?
Another, Senate Bill 642, implies there has been a problem with people driving off-road vehicles. The problem is not stated, but its cure is to give the state more money, both in the form of licensing and registration taxes.
